Due dates are worked out from the invoice date and terms you enter. Payment terms, holiday schedules and roll-forward rules vary between contracts and accounting systems, so check your own agreement before relying on a date for billing, reminders or collections.
How this calculator works
Enter the invoice date and choose the payment term — Net 30 means the invoice is payable 30 days after the invoice date, Net 60 means 60 days, and so on. Choose whether the term counts calendar days (the usual convention) or business days, which skip weekends. Add any company holidays and the calculator will treat them as non-working days too. If the resulting due date lands on a weekend or holiday, it can roll forward to the next business day, which is how most accounting systems present a due date. Enter the invoice amount and anything already paid, plus the date you're checking from, to see the remaining balance, the days until the due date, and how many calendar and business days a payment is overdue.
Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate a Net 30 due date?
Add 30 days to the invoice date. If that day is a weekend or holiday and rolling is switched on, the due date moves to the next business day — so a Net 30 invoice dated 1 May 2026 is due 31 May, which rolls forward to Monday 1 June 2026.
What's the difference between Net 30 and 30 days?
They mean the same thing. 'Net 30' is accounting shorthand for payment due 30 days after the invoice date, and Net 60 or Net 90 work identically with a longer term. Any other length can be entered as a custom term.
Do weekends and holidays change the due date?
Under the standard calendar-day convention the term itself is unaffected, but many businesses roll a due date that falls on a weekend or holiday to the next business day. Add your holiday dates and this calculator will account for them.
How are late days counted?
The calculator compares the due date with the date you enter under 'Status as of'. Calendar days overdue are the difference between the two dates; business days overdue skip weekends and any holidays you've listed.
Can I use a payment term that isn't in the list?
Yes. Choose 'Custom term' and enter any number of days from 1 to 365 — useful for terms like Net 21, Net 75 or 2/10 Net 30 style agreements.
